Potinara Love Love 'Yellow Bird', a medium/smaller sized cattleya. I waited a year for this one to bloom, the flowers will last about three weeks and then it is back to waiting.

COOL, thanks for the science lesson tooI love nature's strategy and intelligent design. The lower red petal is the insect's landing pad. The lines direct the insect to the nectar tube and the overhead hood has a hook on it. After the insect gets the nectar and backs out, the hook gets caught in the hairs on its back and breaks off a section with two pollen sacks attached. When the insect repeats the process on another plant it transfers the pollen to the other plant as the inside of the pollen tube is also sticky and the pollen sacks attach themselves thus pollinating the plant. Engineering at its best.
