As it is getting close to seed starting time I thought I would pass this along. I start a lot of seeds, so I use a lot of plant markers, and I make them from discarded bleach bottles. Using a pair of sturdy shears I can easily make a few dozen or so in just a few minutes. ;)

What an excellant idea! That's a great use for something that would otherwise be trash and it saves money on something to make yourself. Way to go! :thumbsup

I do that too Jack. I use old cottage cheese containers but bottles are a good idea, no printing on the back.
Yours are much more uniform than mine!

Great idea! I was just thinking about ordering some plant markers from Farmtek because my current system of ballpoint pen on popsicle sticks doesn't make it a week outside before they are unreadable. I don't use that much bleach, but we *do* have opaque white gallon milk jugs. -Wendy

Wendy, I'm surprised your popsicle sticks don't make it very long. Mine easily last a season. I could probably reuse them 2 years but I like mine nice looking. :) It could be due to my mild weather.
