It looks like a sand plum. They make great jelly. We had big thickets them growing wild in Oklahoma. No telling how it got where it is. California isn't its native range. Click on photo in this article and you'll see it's almost identical to your pic.

That does look nearly identical, Hoodat. Thanks for the link! I just worry about eating something when Im not 100% positive what it is. I dont wanna kill anyone.
