I wish I could find me some elderberries! I'd be making my own wine! :D

I've been reading about dandelions, haven't tried them.... yet. ;) I'm also on the lookout for wild onions and garlic.
I've never been around any pokeweed but since you mentioned wine and
dandelions, here's a recipe for dandelion wine

and dandelion jelly

Yes, I have made both and they are very good! My aunt used to cook dandelion leaves which I didn't really care for. Tastes too much like cook spinach which I don't like, only it has an even stronger flavor. I have eaten them raw as an additional green in salads and it adds a nice extra flavor to the salad. Dandelions blossoms and leaves are loaded with vitamins and health benefits. The roots are suppose to have medicinal qualities too. Have never tried the roots.

Enjoy!

What does it taste like? Is it that good or just a way to make it palatable enough to eat?

It's everywhere around here. Fortunatley I haven't gotten that hungry yet.:D

The deer love it so I just let it be. I guess they don't know it's toxic.
