I generate more dirty dishes than anyone I know, between all the dairying and breadmaking and such. When we moved here, we bought a dishwasher but it sat on the front porch for 2 years while I begged Randyman to hook it up. Then I got my shoulder broke and was laid up for 9 months. That meant he had to do dishes. It was installed before I got home from surgery!

HA! Very funny! I LOL at that.

I've been following this thread because I'm thinking about going to all manual. We've used a dishwasher for decades, but think maybe it doesn't make sense now. We clean and wash everything as we cook and since there are only two of us now there isn't much to get cleaned at the end of a meal. So, it takes us a couple days to build up a whole load to run. That makes the dishwasher a silly storage device. Now I just have convince hubby - he's not too keen on manual anything. But, I'm glad to have a dishwasher for times when we have a house full around holidays or when we have a party. That's when it really is a convenience.

My sister can't stand a dish in the sink, when they built their dream house 3 dishwashers where added to kitchen.
Yep! Know what you mean. Grew up in a house like that. Probably what fostered this "Rule to Live By":

Never let the things you should do interfer with the things you want to do. The dishes will still be there when you get home. :old
