@marshallsmyth:

That's what I am hoping. The tree are still young and I will not be looking for apples until next year. I do plan on buying crab apple trees from The Arbor Day Foundation, they would be great on a steep hill out front and the limbs would be great for grilling. I also planted a Cleveland pair tree, which I was told did not bear fruit. It has 13 pears growing, I believe there must be a pear tree somewhere in the area. My peaches are also growing wonderfully. I objective is to grow a variety of fruit, in order to offset the grocery bill, feed bill and created some shade. I also have rabbits, and now that we have plenty of hutches to handles 3 litters at a time, we are planning to start building a chicken coop/ goat shelter. We intend on having chickens by next spring and hopefully a goat. We would love to grow vegetables but with all clay and rock we need to build up the areas and set up a natural watering system. (that's where rabbit dropping come in). Right now we just have some roots veggies, squash and tomatoes growing. Funny thing is I didn't plant the tomatoes...They are growing from last year. lol. Everything takes time and it is fun getting there.

@Nyboy.

Thank You.

I am always pulling grass and stuff for them. I enjoy giving them things they like. At this point all they go crazy for is the dandelion leaves and roots, wild strawberry and blackberry leaves. It will take a while for other vegetables to grow(carrots, sweet potatoes..etc). Do you have any idea for greens that which grow in the cold weather. I know a few, but I also read that the rabbit could not have much of them because of possible problems. So, any ideas for fast growing vegetation helps.
