That was definitely eaten by an animal. you need to check on your surroundings for a possible solution, traps and all.. good luck. such a waste of beautiful fruit.

It may be useful to put a bird bath in the garden to keep the birds away from tomatoes. ... You can also provide birds with a sacrificial tomato decoy plant which they can eat while preserving the tomato plants you want for yourself.
