Yesterday I saw an old photo of a homemaker getting ready to can. She had her cleaned canning jars outside, each one up side down on the picket fence posts, drying out. Nowadays, we try so hard to keep everything sterile, and "back then" they dried them outside in the bird poop and bugs. :th Betcha she wasn't using a pressure canner, either! lol

We've been putting up beans for a couple of weeks now. I finally took 2 gallon bags of them up to the farm stand to sell. We've eaten green beans every night for 2 weeks. Don't get me wrong, they're dang good beans!!!

These dragon tongue beans are REALLY productive, so happy we got them. :D

Our local extension service is worthless Carol. I may try the one in Wheeling and have better luck.
