I had an idea for planting some potatoes that were in the bin too long. I made this out of an old toddler bed and some window shutters. I put some shade cloth around the sides to hold in the soil. I am hoping it will work. The plan is to just add more soil as the vines get taller... The sun was coming up.. so the photo is not that great...

Looks like it should work. And look great while all the greens are up. Let us know how it progresses. We are still at least 4 months away from planting spuds. :(

Were you just out there a moment ago to take that picture? I love photo's fresh from the oven . . . The sun would be up here now, if it wasn't for freezing fog falling as piffling fluffy flakes . . . "ff"

f our months, Carol Dee? Can't you get them out like the first of April?

Send either some sun or a real snowstorm north, Rebbetzin!

O.K. ... we try to get them in the ground on Good Friday. So about 3 - 3 1/2 months. Weather cooperating.

It is funny how many times I run out with my camera to get a photo to post! We are blessed here with great winter weather! I hate summer here! My husband tells me to pretend it is winter in the summer time. Then I won't be trying to grow things that take too much water to keep alive in our blistering heat!

What's the temp there today, rebbetzen? (I just wanna feel worse than I do already)
When I got up at 7:00am... I checked the "on roof" themometer on the A/C unit. It said 34! And the sun was already up a bit.
It is 8:30 now and "they say" it is 42.. here is our projected weather for the next t 10 days.

I am most impressed that you were working when the sun was coming up.
It is a habit that is hard to break. Most of the year we try to get out early and have things done outside by mid-morning. Plus, I get up with the chickens, literally... I have 6 hens, and we all wake up at the crack of dawn. I am forever hearing this phrase from my husband the "night owl"...

"I woke up all by myself!"
