Praying Mantis

Do they just die in cold? How do we get new ones the next year? Yeah, I have no clue as to their life cycle.

They lay eggs that look like hard brown spit on beaches. My blueberries had a dozen or more last winter and I saw a ton of PM all summer. I assume the adults will die. It has been cold but not freezing and I still see some alive.
