FOA, I would like to thank all for the great info that is being passed on by this site and BYC.

Seems like I'm having something happening with my black-eye peas and my yard long beans. Hoping someone will be able to tell by the pictures what is going on with them., but unfortunately I not allowed to post them yet. If it helps, I have them posted on my uploads, but otherwise I'll try to describe to the best of my ability.

There are squiggly lines on the leaves, holes in them, edges eaten, some leaves are wilting and a few plants just died. I did put out a pan of beer last night, no snails, just a bunch drown drunk ants. A few days ago I did put some DE on the black-eye peas, I saw some brown looking aphids on a few and ants were going crazy. Since then we have had some rain and it has washed away, but no signs of the pest.

Hopefully, someone can lead me in the right direction and if you need more info, just ask.

If you go read a few other threads and post on them, soon you will be able to post pics :)

Not gonna make a guess about your problem yet, could be lotsa things.

Do you have any other types of bean plants that are NOT affected, or are these it? How are other plants in that region of the garden doing?

Welcome to the forum, hope you can get your beans figured out,

Pat

First I'd start off with a nice shower. Hose off the plants as best you can. Don't worry too much about damaging them with the force of the spray but try to get the underside of the leaves and the stems on everything. Hit the trellis, as well.

It is best if this is done early in the morning so the plants have the day to dry.

What do these "squiggly lines on the leaves" look like - shiny?

Are the holes in the middle of the leaves as well as at the edges?

If so, you may have been right to think snails as a 1st try.

No, no other beans, but my cucumbers are showing the squiggly lines on the lower leafs too. Actually the beans and peas are over 50' apart.

Yeah I need to post some more so I can get the photos posted.

The peas were hosed off this morning before I posted, it's the only way I can water that section of the garden at this time. The beans are on drip irrigation that I recently installed with micro sprinklers. I always do watering in the am.

Also I failed to mentioned all my beds are raised, we have almost a 1.5 acres on the marsh.

I wouldn't say the lines are shiny, more of a white discoloration.
