Goodness Marshall..Only one tomato plant...that would mean a limited supply of yummy tomatoes for my sandwiches and salads...

Lucky I pinch off the lower growth on my indeterminate Toms and will trim some of the suckers if they get out of hand and try to over take the garden...

It really depends on whether or not you want a few BIG tomatoes or a Lot of smaller ones...

Oh, MomofDrew, I forgot to mention, about a mile away at my neighbor's garden, I gave him 5 Big Rainbow Tomato plants to grow among something like 6 other assorted Tomato plants he's growing there. He has no garden Gopher problem so far because he has 5 indoor/outdoor cats that all hunt, especially Lady Mo, a mainly Abyssinian, Mr. B, a long legged stealthy black mixed breed, and Handsome Kitty, a mainly Maine Coon Cat, plus Concha, an American Shorthair/Abyssinian mix, and BunBun, a Siamese/Abyssinian mix. His garden is also right next to the generator shed over there, and that seems to help.

So, yes, there will be plenty of big juicy, sweet beautiful marbled yellow/red Tomatoes for barbecued burgers, BLT's, oh yes, and for the annual chile cook off for the fireman's fundraiser this summer.

Tepary Bean Chile this year!!! mmm, only jalapeno pepper hot. Didn't start any Manzano Rocotta Roja Peppers.
