~ QUIRKY GARDEN FENCES ~

[Hattie the Hen]

I want to make a fence around my vegetable garden to keep my marauding Dorking chickens off my raised beds. I want something rather individual & quirky, being rather that way myself........!!

So I am looking around for ideas. If you come across something you think I might be able to achieve please post it.

What fun, Hattie! I know you will think of something wonderful and creative! I thought the upside down, colored bottles were a wonderful idea! Wouldn't keep the duckies out, but makes a fun splash of border color...I once saw someone do their entire yard in "picket fence", but every panel was different. So every 4 feet was another type of picket fence. It looked kind of neat. Keep us posted!

I think the spindle fence is so cute! And it would keep chickens out too.....maybe.

I love the bottle idea! The oars are very cool too, but would be a little out of place on my property.

My MIL has done the bed frame thing as a trellis for her fairy rose. My FIL and BIL and I found an old, rusty, wrought iron bed WAY out in the woods on an old abandoned home site when we were hunting morels one year. BIL and his friends were ever so sweet to go back out and haul it home for her. She loves stuff like that.

I love the wattle fencing and one could get really creative with it by incorporating designs in the panels.

Cute ideas. I like the natural looking ones myself, the ones with the twisted branches or the shrub that was espeliered.

Aren't gardeners the BEST recyclers EVER!!
I really like the trained living evergreen fence, and, of course, the dog smelling the poppy, but I'm sure he/she wouldn't stick around long enought to be a permanent fixture!

I love those structures!!! The fences are wonderful and the gazebo is out of this world!! Makes me wish I had a big pile of sticks!
