I'm afraid my own motto is more like this:
"It ain't perfect, but it's better."
Like I said, I only use it in certain senses. Generally, I use it when referring to PRODUCTS, not PEOPLE or TASKS. Usually it's in the context of whether or not to try out a new brand of something (like, say, olive oil.) By now, we have brands of olive oil and vinegar we are very happy with, as use as out default supply. All I usually mean when I say that saying is that, even if we ARE happy with the one we have, that does NOT mean we should stop testing out new ones, since there may be an even BETTER one out there. It's a rally cry against complacency, not a demand for perfection.
