why doesn't the octopus have eight hearts?

it has three, the systemic heart which pumps the blood around the body and then two smaller branchial hearts which pump blood for the gills.

what color is octopus blood? blue. due to hemocyanin which contains copper.

how many brains do they have? nine... one for each arm and then an overall coordinating brain. in terms of neurons they have about the same number as a dog.
