Somewhere deep inside, I guess I knew there had to be ways of preparing radishes that would render them edible. It's just that no one I knew ever did anything more than wash, salt, and munch. The occasional radish slice in a salad is never a problem, but neither is it a necessity.

Perhaps, someday in the future, I will harvest the perfect radishes and be bored enough to try baking a radish or two for a taste test. All they need is love? I have never lovingly planted a radish seed. That may be my big mistake.

Are there any radishes that are not hot? I would love to grow some for my preschoolers. The last ones we grew were even too hot for me. :(

What type of ground, fertilizer do they like? As cheap as they are in grocery, they have to be easy. But yet, not for me

I've never done anything special for mine. Maybe they're getting planted a little too deep, or too close together or too much N? They do best in cooler weather too. Spring heats up pretty quickly here, so I usually get nicer radishes as a late fall crop.
