rain barrels

[Chiefs Mess]

My problem is I have two big wooden barrels (well over 4 feet tall and heavy) someone gave me years ago but I cannot find the hardware to fit the barrels. All I see is for the plastic barrels (they have thin walls compare to the wooden). Has anyone used just a regular spigot hardward (the kind you would buy for the side of the house) for their wooden barrel? I would think they would work but so afraid to drill the holes and find out it would not work.

Aww.... long as you are attractive to us that's all that matters! LOL

P.s. - I find rain barrels on Craigslist all the time for $30-$40
