Thank you usc529 for the silver queen corn yep I planted 6 rows 6 inches apart and 46 per row now thats 276 possible plants wow and I also planted peas and bush beans

Nice beds! Those potatoes are going crazy!

I'm no help with ants on orka... I don't have any issues with the ants we get, they nibble a little but generally are no bother at all.

I can't believe you have orka in, or even corn! I have to wait until April 15th... don't wanna risk it.

Yea, i have the same thing every year, they don't seem to hurt anything, mainly gather around the flower buds. The first year i spayed a mixture of ivory soap and water to try and get them off, but soon realized there was not a difference in production on my plants that had ants and ones that did not.

I finally finished the picket fence and put my last raised bed in the garden last weekend. I have half of my garden planted:

Here's my newest one...

This is how I assemble mine. Quick and easy and I don't need any help from hubby. The boards are rough cut red oak which is very hard wood and also very affordable. They will last a long time, but as the stakes or boards do rot, they are easily replaced one at a time.

This is my strawberry bed that we built last year, as it was in progress... It was built from salvaged lumber. The wood was so aged, I didn't worry about it being treated.

Here is a long narrow bed I built along the chicken yard fence - I used OOOOLLLLDDDD timbers that look like they were used for fence posts, long before we bought the farm, for the edging:

I'm ashamed of how trashy mine look now that I've looked at everyone else's beds.

Onions, broccoli, and kohlrabi are looking really good. Tomatoes and peppers finally in the ground (er...tires). The potatoes are still hiding, I should probably go check them tomorrow, I would have thought they'd be up by now. The beds are 3x6. To me they are the perfect size.
