I still have to turn the soil around the raised beds and mix in compost for rows of corn!

As for what to plant.... I have tons of seeds started, and many still to start. Its about having enough beds for it all now! LOL

Well the fence is going up just as soon as we get a day without rain already! ARGH!

I found the fence on Craigslist for $300. It was used, but it was already dug up for us. We got 14 panels and 16 posts with caps. Lovely metal fences like these new would have run over $1000.

We put up 3 panels at the end of the driveway with the arbor I got for christmas so I can plant my vine to cover them. (Morning Glory, Glory Vine multi color, and Black eyed susan vine)

Now this fence didn't come with a gate. So either we're going to make shift one of the panels into a gate, or my husband is going to build a wooden one. I'm seeing some gorgeous designs for gates online now, and I'm thinking of going wood.

What do you think of these?

Or maybe a design in wood with the left over fence panel inserted into it?! Maybe I'll come up with a design in Photoshop.

Ok here's a little something I did in photoshop that should blend better with my fence reusing a panel I have already.

Okay, I spent about 2 hours working on the garden yesterday until the sun disappeared behind some clouds (got really cold!). I got my corn area dug up and laid the rest of the landscaping fabric I had left. I should have more and that part of the plot finished by Saturday. I'll get photos later today, too dark last night to do it after I cleaned up.

Saturday the fence should be up and while I'm getting a 3rd raised bed up, my husband is going to build the fence gate. I think we agreed on a design finally.

We have snow predicted for this weekend! I'll just have to console myself with my seed catalogs...:D

Ok, it really went as far as me having to bribe hubby with a GPS to get the fence up. Its not quite finished as we ran out of light, but we'll have all the holes for the posts filled in the morning while he starts work on the gate.

The my friend came over and brought her daughter so we were lounging a bit and the kids were having a good time. We even took a break to go sit on the pond and feed our ducks. (Still trying to get them to trust us more, even though they were raised in our bathtub and hatched by our chickens! LOL)
