I have 2 plants that have flowered the past 2 years, but won't set fruit. They have tons of leaves, and look healthy otherwise. They are surrounded by other blackberry and raspberry plants that are going gangbusters. I'm thinking I will just pull them, but I wanted to see if there's something that I could do to help them along.

Cat, I'm glad you said not to pull them. I planted 3 last year and like curlykate, nada. I was also thinking of pulling them. I thought they would start producing this year, at least a few berries.

Actually, I kind of think my Indian Summer Everbearing Raspberry is trying to conquer the world, putting up shoots from underground even near my Fall Gold. I may well dig up most all of Indian Summer's extraneous runners this winter to give all her neighbors a running start again in the berry patch on her.

Sooo, I may well have 10 or 20 Indian Summer Everbearing Raspberry plants to give away this winter. Providing I have a vehicle by then, (I'd better!!!), and can figure out how to pack them bareroot, let me know, and I'll mail them. Remind me during the winter. But caution: That variety wants to take over the world. Maybe they should have been named Pinky and the Brain!

Yea! I'll be reducing those indian summers way back to one upright this winter. One little upright grows into a 4x4 foot patch in 18 months! Lord knows the size of the patch in 36 months, so make sure she has room.

I love it but durn, she's gonna overwhelm my Fall Gold, and next thing ya know, she'll try to overrun my black satin blackberry, lol! Maybe I should have planted indian summer next to burbank thornless. now that would be an epic battle of the berries!!! lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I transplanted raspberries from a friends garden last year. Over half survived and they look great. too early here for blossems yet but when it comes to canes Im confused. Do all berries come on second year canes on all raspberry plants? I was told to cut the canes down to the ground on these each fall. I didnt do it, simply out of neglect. The canes died anyway and it looks like they are growing new canes. I dont know the name of the type of raspberry these are but they are zone three and have no thorns.

I wonder if adding sulpher to the soil will help the plants to blossem? I was told to add sulpher every year.
