Stop looking so adorable.Lamb pictures!
The brown and white spotted lamb is a ewe, named Latigo. Keeper. The white ram lamb is her brother. He’s standing on a stump. Dinner.
Here’s Aria! Isn’t she beautiful! Barely in the picture is the ram lamb that had the floppy front feet. They straightened up and he runs and plays.
One of Miranda’s twins, both ram lambs. Floppy Feet is photo-bombing. LOL
Eve had twin ram lambs. This is one of them.
Just because she’s so pretty, here’s Aria again.

Today I castrated the ram lambs. Now they are wethers. They are sexually active at 2 months old, can’t have that! I don’t have enough pastures to separate them and grow them off. When I wean all the lambs, they can go in the same pasture.

We did the same thing with male calves an pigs. The meat is better and they are better behaved.

Absolutely correct! Haha, a friend came over to help, since my husband got mutton busted in the trailer and banged up his knee. Friend sat in a lawn chair and held the ram lamb, all 4 legs, while I did the cutting. He had never seen it done before, boy did he ever get educated!
Keeping animals has some less glamorous "care" to it. With pets, we take them to the vet, they get neutered/spayed, we pick them up and take them home. We never "see" that part of caring for our pets. With farm animals, the cost would be ridiculous to pay the vet to do everything for us, hence we learn to do it ourselves. So far, I haven't had to go diving for a breech birth lamb, but I have the long plastic gloves for it. It would have to be easier than pulling a calf.

Domino greeted me this morning with a very spotted black and white ewe lamb.
Her pattern reminds me of a black and white checkered tile floor. I’m thinking the name Checkers.
This is Domino’s second lamb. Domino is the daughter of Ewenique, one of my first ewes and is the only daughter I have from Ewenique. Ewenique always twins, has tons of milk and is an excellent mother. Kinda bummed out that Domino has singled again. If Checkers makes the cut, we’ll see if she singles or twins. I’m loving these spotty lambs!
