Thanks for the garlic tip Tutter, I am planning on garlic and have been pouring over the seed catalogs. I would like to put in a lot as we use a lot of garlic.

Now my problem is that all my 12 raised beds are full and I don't have anything ready to move out. :(

I will have to wait until my peas are done. The space taken up by the romaine is not very big. I was planning on getting a small row of carrots there.

Yes, once it's bolted it's ended it's life cycle, and you need to plant more if you want it.

I'm not sure where you are located up here, but if your weather's like mine, then your lettuce season is from maybe February, with protection, until it gets hot. And since we have some false heat in March and such, and then frosts here and there through May, you need to be prepared to keep planting through the spring.

After May all lettuce here's on borrowed time. Then you can try again after the heat, once in a while.
