[So Cal rose]

Hi, roses hybriders (sorry for spelling!) have yet to find a way to get the 'blue' gene into roses. So the closest they can get is about a pinkish purple. If you are looking for roses other than the usual Hybrid tea you fine at Home Depot etc., I would suggest going to "everyrose.com" to research different rose varieties then go to. "helpmefindroses.com" to find where to buy that particular rose. Also consider some of the nurseries that sell "own-root" roses.

I have a pole bean that that has dark purple flowers that are almost blue but they are certainly not a rose

Nope...no blue rose!! None, nada! So far it's been genetically impossible.

JFTR, there are no black roses either.
