:)

Today is an oddly overcast day; the sun is shining but the sky is filled with whisps of clouds. Inside it feels dark, outside it feels bright; very odd.

At any rate, this is what I captured in my garden today. This is GrandPrize, a three-year-old bush. Such a marvelous range of colors.

Enjoy!

None of these were using a filter, the shadowing effect is the true lighting in the yarden today because of the cloud cover.

Absolutely gorgeous! There is nothing like a rose... I am in upstate NY and was happy to find tight, little buds on my climbing rose. Still a long way off from blooming! I wish you could post the smell in your garden- I bet it smells like heaven....

Lovely just lovely. I have to say that I have always been intimidated by roses. I have always heard how difficult they were.
I did plant some when I first moved here but they did not do well.
In hindsight I think I may have just had them in the wrong place or whatever, the soil was also not the best here at that time either.
I have spent the last decade improving it so I think I will add some to my garden.
In fact I have been thinking of making the side yard garden into a rose garden.
There are some flowers there now but they are mostly heirloom types so they should still go well there.
I have been online looking at roses all month.

Simple life,

Please do yourself a favor and only get roses on their own roots. This would ensure at least two generations or more to enjoy them!

Thanks for the advice, I have been looking at alot of heirloom types and have picked out around a dozen or so I will keep your tip in mind when I buy.
A local garden center has been sellling them for a fair price as well.

Thanks for bringing up that long forgotten point. Years ago, I got a climbing blaze rose, it was awesome, then it became damaged and was cut back. When it cae out from its root system, it was a pink rose of a different variety!! I knew there was a reason I spend way too much time cruing this site..I would never have thought of that again.
