Here are some pics of my roses. I don't know the varieties because they were here when we moved in - they needed pruning and lots of weeding.

I also have a pic od my evening scented stocks that reseeded themselves. I think they are one of my favorite flowers - not real showy to look at but smell heavenly in the evening. The whole yard is scented from them.

And lastly my sage is in bloom. I haven't used any of it - sage is not a herb I use alot of but I enjoy the blooms and the scent of the leaves when I crush them in my fingers.

Those are lovely roses. You must have a very fertile soil as your roses came out beautiful despite having a lot weeds to fight out for soil nutrients. You can do more with those roses by getting rid of those weeds and applying some phosphorous based organic fertilizer to have lots of roses on your shrubs.

Ah, powerful commercial interests in a bed of roses . . .

You heard about the country boy who wanted to move to the big city and make real money?

He applied as a janitor at an IT outfit. They said he could have the job and they would send him the necessary employee forms via email.

He told them that he didn't have email and didn't own a computer. They said that they couldn't hire him!

The country boy went home and began raising roses. He'd haul the flowers into the city every day and sell them. After a few years, he had a range of greenhouses and a fleet of trucks serving many cities.

He bought a mansion and applied for home-owners insurance. The insurance agent said he'd send him the forms via email.

He told the insurance agent that he didn't have email and didn't own a computer. The guy was shocked! "You are such a successful man of commerce! Just imagine where you would be now, if you had been connected to the internet at the beginning of your career!"

"Well, let's see," said the country boy. "I guess I'd be a janitor."
