Thanks for the update! I was just thinking of Rudy the other day, wondering how he fared this winter. He looks awesome in his sweater.

Fluff on his elbows! Of all the places to stick a few feathers... That's like being bald on top, but only having hairs in your ears. LOL

No I haven't had the time to start AI in him. Was kinda hoping Bella would start laying since they are already separate I could start out on them, but so far no Bella eggs.

Are you talking about artificial insemination Kassaundra? I have never heard of that with chickens. That's fascinating.

I had no idea it was done with poultry either. We learn something new all the time!

Some breeds like Cornish w/ the short legs or the really super fluffy ones that look like bowling balls can't fertilize as easily even w/ feather plucking / cutting the vent area so AI is used for those. Rudy has balance issues w/o the wing feathers to help out w/ that.
