Big hugs to you, and her young friend .... i know the heartbreak too well.
I find comfort in knowing that they were loved during their time with us, and that I did what I could for them in times of need.
Plant some flowers in her memory ... maybe a pretty bunch of daffodils, that will come up with the start of each new spring.

Oh my goodness...how sad. I am sorry to hear this story. When things like this happen, I often wonder why we have farm animals. Then I witness a joyful event or ponder a glorious day on the farm and remember exactly why. :hugs

I am so sorry. We know we will outlive our animals. We know we will lose them someday. When they pass away after a long life, we greive, but are solaced knowing they were loved. When we suffer their loss, so unfairly, we ask Why? Our answer is the whisper of the wind, the bleat of those still in our care, the dawning of a new day, knowing that despite our loss, we will move forward. Livestock or Lovestock?

I think Lovestock.
