Apples release a gas called Ethylene which aids in ripening and aging (called senescence). Although I don't keep my apples in the fridge, I do keep them in a separate basket on the counter because they'll trigger spoilage in other fruit or veggies close by them. Tulip bulbs being fleshy are probably more susceptible to ethylene gas than a hard coated seed. But if you want to be on the safe side, you can put your dried seed into a plastic ziploc bag.Ridgerunner said:Question for the experts. I've read to not store certain things, like tulip bulbs, in the same refrigerator as apples because of the gas the apples release. Is this precaution necessary with seeds?
