Water, water whatevet would we do without it.

I've been using a water reverse osmosis filters company for some years now and got a real shock when I called last week.

The membrane used to be changed between 5 to 3 years. Now this company has changed their filter supplier and also changed the time in which the filters have to be changed. The last filter was changed every six months the other 2 every year.

As for the membrane they are now saying every year? And the two other filters now every six months. This is a real leap in my expenditure and a huge problem for me changing these filters and having to get someone to change this membrane. Their other filters that they provided, I had no issues with.

I'm scratching my head now thinking this is a bit of a rip off and looking around to see if I can find better at a more reasonable timescale for these replacements. Plus someone I can pay too change the membrane.

That's if the other filters i hope to find can be screwed in they same as what I'm using today.

how often you need to change a RO water filter membrane cartridge depends a lot upon the quality of the water you have as an input and if there is any sort of pre-filter or activated charcoal filter involved. all of these costs are a part of using them.

the recommended changing interval is often a worst case guess if you are going from instructions by the manufacturer and if you can find a service someone who's actually customer oriented instead of ripping you off they'll have a good suggestion for how often you might need to change it but in the end it really is going to depend a lot upon how much you use it.

the other thing you could do is just see how the output keeps up with your demand and when the output is no longer enough then you can change them.

should not be rocket science... good luck, and like before, keep trying until you find someone who can provide the service you need who is reputable and decent.

Thank you 😊

The membrane blew me away. The company told me 3 to five years. I chose around 2 and a half to three. We don't have hard water here.
Now they've have decided to change these filters. I feel we are now paying more for far less.

I used one of the filters every six months so needed more of filter 1. But now all 3 has to be changed every 6 months.they said this time that was always the case but i don't recall this.

I now have 18 months of these filters. And will be looking elsewhere in the meantime.

Whatever it's going to be super costly for me. I can't stand chlorine, the smell alone makes me sick and knowing the plastics and other junk like they chemicals added just set's me on edge.. I would dehydrate for fear of what's in it.

I came across another company that included minerals that was a five stage . That just under £40 a month 😳 phew.

It's not my week.

Some time ago, i got the clay tiller used in my garden, there was so many awful things in there stones lumps of concrete and various things. My gardener put this into my green bin and now I am totally stuffed.

Now can't move it at all. Because they is no services available that will remove it in my area other than paying £200 for so many tons to be removed.

I read in other areas they would be someone willing to collect these small but heavy amounts and it certainly wouldn't have be £200, that is 268.48 dollars 😅
Rip off lazy arse Britain is seriously a joke.

I've seen a clever young lad put down a concrete floor for a green house, using the sort of things I have in a box, beneath that concret floor

I have even seen it used below floors in house building. What happened to the species we have today, wanting me to pay for a god knows how many ton skip :barnie
