dd does her nails with a dremel nola does not approve, so if nola just sat there last night think i will just stick with scissors..

That reminds me, it's time for Gilligan's all around trim - toes, pads, feathers, tail. He brings in WAY too much junk from the yard in his hair. Making parts of him more like a beagle than a sheltie makes us both easier to live with during the long, wet winter.

As short as you can, with razor cuts hair down to skin.

guess once i get a good pair of scissors will trim as much as she truths me.
noticed that nola did better this afternoon once i get home on the kitchen floor from last nights trim.

It's good to touch and handle their paws as part of playing and petting. Helps them not fear it as part of torture every time. To trim my pibble's toe nails, I would have Ava hold her face and talk to her which did wonders to distract her. My chow mix, I had to sit on her, lol. She had black nails, and man, if I didn't hit the quick at least once each time. :\

I hate cutting black nails. A client once said to me her Vet cut her dogs nails and made one bleed, I do a much better job. I said I make them bleed too your just not standing in the room when I do it.
