Chris have you ordered from Reimers before. I ordered most of my seeds from there and then found that they have a terrible reputation for customer service and poor production. So far everything that I've started has grown OK so I am not as nervious but I was just wondering if you have experience with them.

That is quite a list! Can you grow Bird of Paradise in zone 6? Can't wait to hear your progress with all that planting! Happy Gardening!

I know they take forever to ship out seed. If it wasn't for the Campbell seed I wouldn't have ordered with them. But I thought I would give them one more try.

I think we have another order or so to go in.

I'm going to grow it as a "houseplant".

Can't wait to hear your progress with all that planting! Happy Gardening!
I will keep you all posted.

Just a update,
Reimers must have improved on there shipping.
I just got a E-mail from them with the Tracking Number and so I went and checked it and USPS says that the Expected Delivery Date is February 24, 2011..

I had no trouble with shipping even though they had a notice saying they were really busy and it was taking longer. I have started onions ( they look really good), bush cucumbers in pots (5 out of 6 growing), and now principe borghese tomatoes (9 of 10 spouted after 10 days). I had read all these horror stories about them after I had order and I have been just sick because I ordered over $70 from them. But so far everything has been great. It was the only place that carried all the stuff I wanted.

Like I said about 5 years ago I ordered from them and it took around 2 week to get a pack of seeds.
Now with that being said I can order from Stokes and about 3 or 4 other seed companies and get my order in less than a week.

Oh shucks! I thought that Stokes just did that for me . . .

Five years ago, maybe a little longer, I waited over 3 weeks for a Stokes order. I think I sent them 3 emails -- I was getting desperate!

The 2nd & 3rd emails, I was telling them how their competition was doing. "Ordered on this date from Company X, received seeds on this date . . . Company Y did this . . . Company Z, that . . ."

The last few years ;), Stokes has been lightening fast!!

Here I thought that they were just giving me the VIP treatment because I got cranky with them that one year . .

Gotta say that I appreciate Stokes. They have probably been #1 or #2 for my seed orders for close to 20 years. Their history even seems rather admirable. But, it is mostly my own long relationship with Stokes where I have been able to look to them for much of what is useful in my garden.

Hey Steve,

I will say that I cant ever remember having a very long wait for Stokes to ship. :)
Back in the 80's when my Dad had the Greenhouse we would order a lot of seeds from them and I think only one time we had to wait longer than a week to get our seeds.

Like you said Stokes does have some lightening fast shipping

I like Stokes a lot and like the prices.
For example (for those who haven't used stokes)
Roma VF tomatoes -

Stokes - $2.15 for 200 seeds
Burpee - $3.25 for 125 seeds
Reimer - $2.50 for 20 seeds
R.H. Shumway's - $2.15 for 100 seed
