Self-fertile?

If a tree says that it is self-fertile does that meen that if I plant only one I will still get fruit or does it meen I only have to have one variety to get fruit?:/

I agree with this. With most self-pollinating fruit and nut trees you get a better yield if you plant a compatible variety to cross-pollinate,but you only need one tree to get fruit.
