Hey everybody! I’m going to be documenting my gardening journey here! I usually get really hyped up about gardening and then end up quitting, so I thought this might help me. Right now I have a window of houseplants in my room (I also have more throughout the house but my mom takes care of them), a trash can repurposed to be my compost bin, two empty raised beds and some spray painted tires on a small plot of land, a small cubby of gardening supplies and an abundance of flower pots. My goals are to keep my current plants alive, mulch my garden (previously mentioned plot), grow some herbs, and fill up a lot of my empty pots. If I can, buying a small greenhouse would be nice. I would also love to try my hand and growing cacti. I’ve tried propagating succulents before, but had no luck.

Welcome to the forum from the Pacific Northwest!

I believe African Violets like indirect sunlight and warm, humid temps. When you water them, water directly into the soil avoiding wetting the leaves.

it is how you learn by doing and trying things. when you start out just keep it as simple as you can and avoid expensive mistakes. with houseplants you can usually get cuttings from friends which is great for starting out and learning. :)
