@canesisters In March 2010 the government of Canada announced that beginning in 2011, cotton fibre will be discontinued and replaced by a synthetic polymer, the other plastic;). It's awful, it sticks together and you have to be careful when dolling it out, especially with the larger denominations:(. We make most of our purchases on the other plastic and pay the balance off each month this way we get a rebate once a year, not big but enough to pay for a couple of dinners out.

I wonder what those posh eateries do when someone of a different ethnicity comes in for a meal...say someone in their native~but dressy~attire. Do they still insist they wear the American equivalent of "dress" attire? If not, then how can they insist that anyone else do so in this day and age? I, for one, do not consider a suit jacket and tie as the epitome of "dress" any longer and have seen much more attractive and dressy attire on men than a suit and tie.

I was going to say, my husbands idea of dressing "nice" is a pair of Carhartts that he hasn't worked in yet, and a new white t-shirt. Hey, looks good on him!
I'm not too far from that, good jeans and a casual blouse work for me.
The fanciest place we ever eat at is a good Mexican restaurant. If I ever had to eat in a fer-sher fancy joint I'd be too uncomfortable to enjoy it anyway.

when I quit my last meet-the-public sales job, I packed up 4 garbage bags of high heels and donated them. If you men think suit and tie to go eat should be illegal, try wearing high heels to work, standing, walking, running and the myriad of activities done while working. Hah! If anything should be illegal, it ought to be HIGH HEELS!

@baymule Never understood why high heels. They look uncomfortable and unsafe if I Had to wear them.....

@thistlebloom Had to laugh at that. We had a local hotel that had a Friday night buffet (great seafood and deserts, I mean great). Told my folks, Dad wanted to eat there so over they came. Mom couldn't enjoy her meal because it was $10/meal-this has been a while back. We tried to explain that the money was spent, so relax and enjoy. She couldn't though........ That same meal today would be $50+, that may be too low.

:love And that's the man I'd do a double take on when he walked in the place...not because he wasn't wearing a suit, but because what he was wearing accentuated the male figure so very well. IMO, nothing more sexy and right to see on a man but Carhartts, work boots and clean white T. If you can make that look good, you look good indeed. ;)

And...yes...whoever thought high heels were a good idea needed to be slid down a banister of razor blade into a vat of alcohol. Pure implements of torture.
