hi! i'm in ohio and i cannot find that much on growing quinoa. wifezilla posted some things about it being planted early like with carrots and peas. i had thought it would be planted at the same time as corn (when the soil warms up). but that seems to not be the case.
so it is april 2 and i'm hoping to get in all my earlies such as carrots and peas in. so should i plant quinoa now? the forcasted last frost date for me is april 18.
thanks!

I'm going to grow Quinoa this year. Got seed for a variety called Colorado. How well did your Quinoa do? When relative to your last frost date did you plant them, or suggest planting it? What problems if any did you have? How did you harvest and winnow the seeds? and, how did you process it into flour, and what recipes did you use? Lol! I only have a few easy questions!

I'm also growing hulless Oats for the first time this year, and breadseed poppy.:watering

We are also growing quinoa this year! I started eating it in place of rice about 3 years ago and LOVE it! It's expensive, but the seeds are not & it will grow well in our climate.

I do not grind it into flour but use it in place of rice in recipes. I have also found some delicious quinoa recipes online. I make a quinoa-mango salad that is absolutely delish! It has a cup of quinoa and a cup or so of mango, diced into 1/2 inch (approx. 1.5 cm) cubes. Then put in 1/2 cup or so each of diced tomato, diced fresh cucumber, 1/4 c diced bell pepper (any colort), and 1/4 to 1/2 cup (to taste) of diced red onion, all in about 1/2 inch cubes. Mix and add 1-2 tablespoons fresh-squeezed lime juice and 1/2 to 1 tablespoon organic blue avage nectar. This makes a wonderful summer salad. It's also good with 1/2 cup or so of shredded/diced jicama for an extra bit of crunch.

I have been known to add shredded leftover chicken to it and make it a main dish for a summer meal.

It's also a very visually-appealing dish.

Edited for typos.
