Can anyone help me ID this bush? Is it a massive weedy bush or something I should keep?

The bloom slightly resembles a sweet pea. But those are vines. The flower is pretty. Maybe (if you like the bloom) you could try shaping up the bush and keep it for a season to see what it does.

That's the plan carol dee. Now that I know it blooms and it's pretty I'll keep it and plant other things around it. Now the challenge is to find a shade loving plant that is roughly the same size as this one to plant on the other side of the porch

Need more info. Does it have a scent (check at dusk)? The leaves look a bit like a Daphne, but the flowers are different.
The flower looks a bit like some fall flowering clematis -- not well formed or symmetrical -- but those would be more vine than shrub.
Are the leaves evergreen?
Are the leaves succulent?
Do the flowers bloom up a scape or on the shrub stem?

It's a bit hard to see the detail of the flower, but by the shape of the shrub and bloom time, could it be some type of Autumn Sage ?
