Gosh Marshall .... and all I have to do is go to our kitchen counter for a slice . :drool My wife got Blue Ribbons for all her different types of pies, including the pecan one, at 3 different county fairs + Cal. State Fair. for years. :love

Oh! Bob! You and your wife are invited to the lake for the Pecan Pie tasting!

Since my taste buds are SO SLOOOWWW at working, it'll have to be a 3 day event, and the results may take a full year, so a full year's supply will need to be entered.

There will also be a blackberry pie taste off and a raspberry pie taste off with the same rules.

Course, not sure if Monty knows, there will also be a similar competition for barbecued ribs.

bobm, as I've mentioned before pecan pie is my favorite. Years ago when I was in Georgia, I had a pie that was to die for. The custard part was very thick, about 1 inch. I have since tried to find a pie or recipe like that to no avail. Is your wife's pecan pie like that? If so, can I have her recipe? Heck, even if it's not that thick, I still want it!
