The same thing is kinda going on for both coasts, Cat'. Except the storm in the Atlantic looks really severe.

The snow forecasts may have all passed last week for our neck of the woods. However, sunshine is going away this week with more and more chance of rain promised here. It's okay here on the dry side but very bad for the land slide rescue efforts north of Seattle.

Where you will have to keep your fingers crossed is how far off the coast that nasty low pressure will be from New England and the Maritimes. Sure wouldn't want to be out on the water!

I really never knew much about landslides. Terrible for your neighbors.

I thought this thread could be put to rest until next winter but we are forecast for 6-9 inches of snow for tomorrow. What a year for snow. We have had years in the past where we got 1 inch all winter. To think I weeded on Sunday. Hopefully it will not last very long.
Are ya'll EVER going to get a break? Gheesh!

It seems like, what the Weather Service often calls, an "active" few days everywhere. Cat', you must be deep in the soup just about right now!

Here is the short term discussion: (LINK).

There was just enough room to continue bringing plants in from the greenhouse overnight. I didn't want to do that but I'd hoped that overnight temperatures would be increasingly with the clouds here. Not so, says the WS. They are still saying rain but temps in the low 30's ! With some wind, the furnace will be on half the time out there.

With the plants coming back in at night, I can save some energy and just burn my own calories. The greenhouse furnace will be running enuf in daylight hours.
