When I started working at the Warner Electric factory, the 'team mates' I was to work with bought me a coffee. As I picked the cup up for a drink they were all staring at me. They were watching to see if I stuck out my pinky or not. Pinky out seemed to mean I wouldn't make the grade as an assembler. Needless to say I made a great assembler.

Outside of movies in real life I don't remember anyone drinking with pinky out

It would be hard not to stick your pinky out with the tiny size of some of those tea cups people used to drink out of.

Now with a big ol' 64 ounce jug of coffee even the most ham fisted among us can keep our fingers properly curled in.

My dad was a big guy, not fat big, just big, and he had remarkably large hands. My mom had dainty hands with slender feminine fingers.
I got my dads hands and they used to embarrass me, but now we get along.
Those old diners mugs are hard to get your fingers through and I remember dad just ignoring the handle and picking them up like a glass to drink his coffee.

64 ounces equals 1/2 gallon, @thistlebloom ..!

It would probably be easier for most of us to put our coffee in TWO quart containers and drink with both hands.

I know! That's just a huge amount of coffee! Haha.

I made up the 64 oz. part, but I have a friend that has an insulated mug that probably holds nearly that volume and it's her daily ration of coffee.

I tell everyone I have 1 cup of coffeein the morning. What I don't tell them is I have a jumbo size coffee mug.
