So I tried. I really did. But I went to the nursery and being unsupervised there can cause problems.

The initial plan was enough tomatoes for sandwiches and that was it. Then I said I wanted pumpkins since its tradition and that was fine. Then we talked about planning a very small garden.

So I got panicky since it was Thurs before Memorial Day Weekend when everybody stocks up and buys what they want to plant. So I didn't want to get a bunch of left overs and I just went and bought what I wanted.

So I got:

12 Jack O Lanterns

8 Big Macks (they get between 50-200lbs) A couple of them I think I might try to push to get closer to 200lbs and the others Ill just let do their thing.

18 Early Girls. I told myself I really only wanted 8, but they were in the 6 cell packs and thought "Ok I can do 12" it not that bad. But there were 3, 6 packs of REALLY nice plants that I couldn't believe were not in 3" pots! I couldn't decide which ones I wanted all 3 packs looked great so I bought all 3, 6 packs! I couldn't pass up such a good deal! The others looked good too but these were ready to transplant. How could I say no?

1 Black Krim in a 3" pot because I love the flavor.

1 Early Pink in a 3" pot. Its a variety I'd never seen before and I've never grown pink tomatoes before. Its only 1 plant and I'm curious. Total impulse purchase. Yep they got me.

1 Black Cherry tomato plant in a 3" pot which I was sure I didn't I need but somehow every time I put down I'd pick one up again. Must have done that 3 or 4 times. Finally said the devil with it and bought it. Another total impulse purchase. Got me again. Dang it! 4 dollars on 2 impulse purchases? That's not bad looking back on it. Sometimes I wish SUCKER written across my forehead was in washable ink though :gig

1 Super Sweet 100 Cherry tomato plant in a 3" pot

4 zucchini plants

4 yellow squash

4 Marketmore 76 cukes.

Ok I'm DONE! I went in telling myself I needed 1/2 of what I bought. And that's a restrained me. $24 later I might be cursing myself later this summer or hopefully Ill be glad I was impulsive. Either way I'm just glad I've got something going.

hahahaha Jared! I bet there are support groups for people out there like us! Nicely done though! :ya (you see I am not a member of such support group yet. I am an enabler!)

As I was running just on time for work this morning, I passed a driveway near the local grocery store. The lady had her trunk up and was unloading groceries. She had a beautiful fuscia plant in the back. I thought, "oh, look at that! She must have got that at DeMoulas!!" So what did I do? Yep...I drove right in to the grocery store parking lot, got out, looked at their beautiful hanging baskets and bought 3. Oh Yes I Did!!

Thus, making me late for work. :D

Enjoy your planting Jared!

That's a lot of stuff for $24! Don't feel bad...you should be proud! ;)

I did the same thing when I went to town Tuesday. Had so many plants in the back of the SUV, I had no where to put my groceries!

I went to the daylily extravaganza in Florida last week called Mecca. I would be embarrassed to admit how much I spent on daylilies.
Let's see if I understand this correctly.
