I've eaten a bit of it but I'm cautious about using too much since there is some controversy over whether it's edible. I haven't suffered any harm from what I've eaten.
let me share some notes from a good article about society garlic:
1. it is an plant from South Africa whose leaves have a garlicky odour
2. It belongs to the lily family as do onions and garlic
3. The plants do best in full sun and in light, sandy soil
I'm really not using it as an herb. I have it tucked away in an out of the way place in my garden because I noticed the flowers are quite popular with the small parasitic wasps that keep the aphids and catterpillar eggs under control. Those tiny wasps can't use a lot of the flowers that bees and butterflies do. They need small flowers.
