All the different solar lights we had were always worthless and I wish I could get my money back. None ever lasted more than 1 year. Except one tiny light, it worked for 1.5 years and then kicked the bucket...They are built cheaply and I would never bother/recommend them.

I got 4 of the cutest little 'lantern' looking ones that are supposed to go on porch/deck rails. I put them on tree trunks to light the path from the gate to the house.

Check everywhere, including farm supply stores, who often have them on sale. I've also bought them cheap at Walgreens. I like paying about $1.50/each. Watch price AND battery life. The newest ones use new batteries and it's the batteries that last longer, NOT the new light fixture, itself.
Buy a package of replacement batteries, too. They recharge every day with sunlight and they DO wear out.
I've been using WHITE solar lights for about 6 years now. I have them in strategic locations around my 5 acre property. I have one at every gate--I own horses--so I can find my way around in the dark. The colored ones seem great, but they don't throw much light, and I have no use for them. I made sure that my youngest daughter had one to put at the steps of her trailer where she lives for Law School. There is good lighting but it's a little dark by the steps on a moonless night.

I agree with you ducks4you :)! I have been also using WHITE solar lights for last two years. These lights are working properly. If anyone has a better option than solar lights then please suggest me.
