Joe,

You can slap me around later, but something doesn't feel right about this plant actually being an Agapanthus :old

It is a Clivia! I bet almost a dollar! Well, if I had a dollar LOL

Seriously, look at the fan-like effect the leaves are in. No Agapanthus does that. Instead the Lily of Nile wants to spread her leaves out and around and fill a more rounded effect.

The Clivia Family, however, loves to fan in just the exact way as your picture!

Have you ever seen this plant bloom?

I was just going by the label on the plant. It was a near dead deal, I could not leave this poor thing to demise.

Joe

Well this is it for tonight! I am tired, see you all soon.

:frow :frow

I am sure Ron is right -- it's a Clivia. I have grown both plants & the moment I saw Joe's plant my brain said Clivia not Agapanthus.

Good luck with the unravelling -- but remember that Clivias like being pot-bound -- they bloom better that way.

Thank you Hattie and Ron.

I hate that about Walmart, half the time the plants are not marked.
When the plants are marked they are marked wrong.

I would not buy anything from there but the clearance rack calls my name as I go by!

I guess I will have to correct the title.

I'll play contrarian. I think you have a blue lily of the nile there. i have one that fans like that. i feel clivia foliage would be much more dark and glossy whereas a nile lily is more of a dull limey color fading to white as it nears the base.

I see Ron's imaginary dollar and raise him 10 imaginary cents.

(plus i'd be shocked if walmart even carried clivias)
