Thistle, I'm not creative at all, so I've been racking my brain thinking of names. Baymule seems to be pretty good at it.

Cat, here's another one "Sotelo Red" ;)

So a HS friend came to visit and buy daylilies. She was voted cutest in our class and was the first to buy this new plant. So for all of our FB friends I announced that I would call it Laurie Steen Beauty Queen but, I thought she might kill me. She let me write it on the tag for her home, but was not thrilled with the idea,or so she said. So it is Mattapoisett Beauty Queen but she and I and our HS buddies on FB know it's real name. But you have all given me great ideas for many of my unnamed reds. Thanks for all the fun.

@catjac, this has nothing to do with daylilies, but your beauty queen story reminded me of something. A few years ago, when my mom had her e-mail account changed, my brother set it up and gave her a new email name. It was "beautiful Muriel @gmail.com." or whatever. She hated it, and didn't like even giving anyone her email address. She sure didn't think she was beautiful; in fact, after some surgeries for skin cancers, and a lifetime of "bad skin", she thought she was anything but beautiful.
Of course, my brother felt she was beautiful, soul-wise, and had hopes of building her self esteem, but it did not help. I guess my message is ....?....we don't know what people think of themselves.

Oh I don't think that she did not believe that she was cute especially in her youth. It is just not a great life's accomplishment. Secretly we would all exchange a few brain cells to be beautiful.
How sweet of your brother.

This is a near black purple spider seedling from Planet Max. Photo does not do it justice.
