Off of my 3 new blueberry bushes, I had lots of fruit set. I was able to actually eat ONE blueberry. I guess the birds got the rest of them. They disappeared as they ripened. :(

Maybe birds or maybe a raccoon. I had a raccoon do that to my blackberries one year. I'd look at them and say, those will be ripe enough to pick tomorrow, but tomorrow they would be gone.

This brings up a question: will bird netting keep a squirrel out of the strawberries? They are right around the base of a tree and he feels pretty comfortable with that dining spot :/. Lost a lot of them to the squirrel last year.

He also took a lot of peaches. This year, I think both of us are out of luck. I don't know . . . must have been one of our late frosts :/.

I've kept birds out of the garden by strategic placing and frequent moving of a stuffed cat ;). The cat is gone but I've got Garbanzo's stuffed cow . Garbanzo has run the squirrel out of the yard before but that's a little scary. If it came down to it, I don't know who would win the fight - the dog or the squirrel.
