Oh my goodness, Athena, are you deployed over there with the military? What a place to have to garden! How long are you there for?
She's in Iraq and I am sending her a welcome package of seeds in MArch when she comes home....

Anyone up for chipping in for her?

Perhaps we could start a thread?

Thoughts?
Most diffinately!!! I have been talking to Athena for a few months now as she has been a volunteer working at "Troy's Place" which gives our military personal all the little things they cant get over there...like books poptarts candy chips magazines...I met her over on the BYC forum.... she sent my son's platoon 150# of goodies at Christmas time...I think we should have a welcome home cart for her...will need her home addy...she is due home in March...

Hi Athena! I just read the other thread and said I hadn't "met" you yet. Well now I have.
It's a pleasure to meet you and I would be thrilled to send some seeds when you get back home!

We had more snow here too, but I managed to find some signs of spring in my greenhouse and get some work done in the dirt . . . OMG the dirt smelled goooood!

Reinbeau -- that is so cool about skunk cabbage generating heat, I had no idea.

We are getting some heavy rain for the next couple of days. I was hoping to dig a trench this weekend but I am so not interested in playing in the mud.

The snow melted unrelentingly for 3 days and exposed some overwintered spinach! Gotta love that Bloomsdale Longstanding!
