Ohhhhhh nice!! I'm so jealous of that beautiful tall beebalm, i've never seen it grow that tall...or, um, live, at all...in my garden...i even killed the one you sent me... . (the jerusalem artichokes are fine...thanks!!)

What has purple blooms in the pot to the left of the beebalm?

Oh bummer about the beebalm Heather! It must not travel well, because Southerns didn't make it either. I think Journeys might have survived, and I sent one to Cane, but it was late spring and already hot so it probably didn't live either.

The purple spikey bloom in the pot is Betony (Stachys officinalis ).

Southern, I just dead head the beebalm when it's through blooming, then cut it to the ground in the fall.

Lesa, yes a cage works really well, especially around the jacob Cline because it gets so tall. This one I just gathered a little with a piece of twine.
