No tractor here, @Shades-of-Oregon . On the farm, we had a steel tank on a stand.

Will be needing some for the car soon and noticed the very slight difference between gas prices between WA state and northern ID. What gives — told so often about highest in nation for former?

I think that the Summer mobility of so many drivers leads to pretty darn good profits for the ID companies ;).

I have read that the prices for gas is higher in summer, more people out and about vaca. So more trucks to service and keep up the the larger demand. And also Oregon does not have any oil refineries so all the petroleum products has to be trucked up the coast from Calif adding to the cost. Same for heating oil. There’s a steel tank in the ground for the heating oil. Prices are sky high. 550 gallons tank.

Difference in gas prices between two different states is usually due to the state sales and road taxes on motor vehicle fuel.

Gas prices in CA (68.1 cents per gallon) will never be as low as those here in WY (24 cents per gallon) due to the taxes.

...

the recent weeks the price of gas has been going down. yesterday it was $3.19. for summer that is pretty low but then there is the overall price of oil which has dropped by $10-15 a barrel.

Historic pictures of the nearby urban downtown show a livery stable right beside what was once the city hall.

Across the street was the hotel. The location for the stable only made sense. The city hall moved after a few years and a fire station showed up. It only made sense, also – horse-drawn fire wagons.

Personally, liver & onions wouldn't rate very high in my free-liver plans.
