I was almost thinking you were living down the road from me with your accident report, so lucky. We had one just about the same time. A semi hit a car and pushed it into the oncoming lane where it was hit by a second semi head on. Lights out for about 8 hours near and around the accident site and, of course, the traffic was stopped for much of that time as well while new power poles had to be installed and wiring repaired.

Power company (or phone) is still out there this morning working on things. NOT a happy outcome for the car or its driver from what I've heard.

Back in 2001 I was at work, nearing the end of the shift, when we heard sirens. Ambulances and other emergency vehicles screaming through our little town out to the mountain pass about 7 miles from town (lots of accidents happened there, it was a terrible road). So, so many emergency vehicles went out there, we knew this one must've been pretty bad… A local lady I used to see around town loaded up some curious people on her pick-up and headed out to go have a look. Some time later, I was standing in the main street of the village when a tow-truck came in, pulling the wreck of her truck…

The first was a fatal accident, a father and his little girl killed. I can't remember of didn't hear the fate of the people in the other vehicle. The local lady and her passengers, when she went out to go see the first accident, got killed in their own collision with another vehicle, not far from where the first accident happened. I don't know or can't remember how many fatalities there were in total, but it was too many :(

I'll never forget a shocked friend of mine saying to me that afternoon "Today was a BLACK day for this town"

DS got off work last week and car in front of him hit a deer. It hit the fender and broke a light and the deer ran off with a broken leg and last week in Kansas the daughter of my friend hit a huge buck and totaled her car. The policeman said he never saw such a big deer. He had to pull the antler out of the motor.
