Our heirloom strawberries are just now coming in and do not taste at all like they did last year. We have had extraordinary amounts of rain with 3 inches in just one day last week so maybe that is it. Is there anything I can do to improve the ones that haven't ripened yet? We are getting very warm muggy weather now with less rain predicted.

I wish I could be of help... but if you are trying to battle mother nature and her temper you just won't win. With all the rain we have gotten I am proud of our raised bed... they've helped keep things slightly dry. However, if it were drying out it'd cost more to water. its a give and take thing.

The thing to do is try to dry out the area so its not so boggy, and honestly it may be too late for that. Perhaps.... put in some ditches for drainage for next time?!
